Knock Knock Children’s Museum is honoring origami, artist Hao Hwa Sze Dec. 13

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- The Knock Knock Children’s Museum is honoring origami artist of Hao Hwa Sze—to recognize him for his life’s work as an origami artist and Southern University math professor from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Professor Sze will be honored at the reception of the museum and members of the Baton Rouge Chinese Culture Club. Sze, art will also be available for sale with the proceeds benefitting Knock Knock Children’s Museum, according to the release.

More than 1000 pieces of Sze’s origami will be on display at the reception. The art is also part of a donation to Knock Knock Children’s Museum from Sze and his family.

“Knock Knock is thrilled to be the recipient of Professor’s Sze’s origami,” said Peter Claffey, executive director, Knock Knock Children’s Museum. “This gift provides the museum an excellent, hands-on opportunity to teach our visitors about math, art, and Chinese culture and supports Math Literacy highlighted in the Geaux Figure Playhouse.”

Knock Knock Children’s Museum is a community spark for engaging, playful learning experiences that inspire and support lifelong learning.
