BATON ROUGE- The LSU women’s basketball team will tip off the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5 against New Orleans, the first of six non-conference games scheduled for the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Lady Tigers will play a total of 12 non-conference games to prepare for the challenging Southeastern Conference portion of the schedule. The SEC portion of the schedule will be released at a later date.
In addition to UNO, LSU will host Florida State, Southeastern Louisiana, Rutgers, Nicholls State and Florida A&M in Baton Rouge.
Games at Little Rock, Tulane and Florida Gulf Coast round out the road trips during non-conference play to go along with games against Michigan State and Memphis or Kansas State in the Junkanoo Jam and the Big 12/SEC Challenge game at Oklahoma.
“We are have a great, well-balanced non-conference schedule in place for the upcoming season,” said LSU head coach Nikki Fargas. “Each opponent will provide us with tests we need in the early part of the season to prepare for SEC play.”
Six 2019-20 non-conference opponents advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2019 with Florida State and Michigan State making it to the Second Round. Little Rock, Rutgers, Florida Gulf Coast and potential opponent Kansas State all played in the First Round. Little Rock won the Sun Belt Conference title, while Florida Gulf Coast took the Atlantic Sun Conference crown.
In 2019-20 SEC play, LSU will host Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas A&M at the PMAC. Fans can request season tickets at LSUsports.net/tickets.
The 2020 SEC Tournament is set for March 4-8 in Greenville, South Carolina. NCAA Tournament action will wrap up just down Interstate 10 in New Orleans as the Smoothie King Center serves as the host site for the 2020 Women’s Final Four on April 3 and 5.
