BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — It’s not uncommon that livestock animals find a way to escape their owners’ property and wonder off, and that’s why the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is trying to build a livestock database for the parish.

The database, which includes information that animal owners voluntarily give to LPSO, can help deputies find the owners of lost livestock.

Those looking to add their animals to the database can call 985-532-2808 or email wendy-plaisance@lpso.net and provide their name, phone number and the address they keep their livestock at.
