LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – The Livingston Parish Clerk of Court’s Office is navigating a cyberattack that triggered the cancellation of two events.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, the clerk office’s software provider was targeted in a cyberattack that impacted a number of other local and out-of-state government offices.

LPSO says a total of 25 Louisiana-based clerk of court offices were affected as well as more than 300 counties in other states.

As a result, the information that would have been necessary to carry out two upcoming sheriff’s sales is unavailable. This means the sales scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Wednesday, Feb. 15 have been canceled.

That said, the sheriff’s office will move forward with its Jan. 18 sales on movables as scheduled.

Authorities say they are working to resolve the issues caused by the attack and will continue to provide updates on their progress.
