LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) – Students could potentially return to some school campuses in Livingston Parish on Friday.
Livingston Parish Public Schools provided an update on what this week is going to look like for students and employees.
Important details for employees, staff and students can be found below:
Livingston Parish Public Schools announced today (Monday, Sept. 6) that all 12-month employees will return to work on Tuesday, Sept. 7. These employees include central office personnel, school principals and some custodial staff.
All other school employees will return to work on Thursday, Sept. 9.
Superintendent Joe Murphy said school officials will work closely with staff at each campus to determine which locations have full power, clean drinking water and basic connectivity to safely and effectively reopen to students. He said the district plans to reopen many campuses to students by Friday, Sept. 10.
Murphy said he will announce the list of reopening schools on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Murphy also said all athletic activities will resume this week; however, no competitions will be held before Thursday, Sept. 9.
