Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office warns of Mardi Gras checkpoints

News

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard wrote that his office will partner with other law enforcement agencies to conduct sobriety checkpoints throughout the parish during Mardi Gras season.

Saturation patrols, a type of DUI checkpoint, will also be set up parish-wide as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which ends Thursday, Feb. 27.

Overtime pay for officers working the checkpoints was made available via grant monies provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, according to Ard.
