HOUMA, La. (BRPROUD) – Parts of Terrebonne Parish are still recovering from Hurricane Ida.

The Pelican Credit Union of Baton Rouge is stepping up to the plate and helping those in need within Terrebonne Parish.

Specifically, the local bank is donating 5,000 gallons of gasoline.

This donation is making a ‘free fuel giveaway’ possible on Friday morning.

Starting at 9 a.m., those who need gas can come to the J & N Truck Stop located at 9706 E. Main St. in Houma.

The Terrebonne Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is letting everyone know that gas will be given away under these circumstances:

  • Fuel is limited to 20 gallons maximum for vehicles only
  • No gas cans will be filled

The giveaway will end when the gas runs out.
