PRAIRIEVILLE, La (BRPROUD) ––– It’s that time of year to head out to a pumpkin patch, but one local church is giving you the opportunity to give back with every purchase.
NewSong Community Church‘s annual pumpkin patch is not only an excellent opportunity to grab a pumpkin to carve or decorate your home with, but it is a great way to give back to the community. All proceeds from the pumpkin patch go towards the church’s missions in Ascension Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, Association of Living Water, Angel Tree, Coats & Socks for Kids, Open Air Ministries, Hurricane Relief, and Good Samaritan (specific needs in our surrounding area).
The patch also features various plants, such as cucumbers, squash, and melons from the Navajo Tribe in Northern New Mexico and jellies and salsa from the United Methodist Children’s Home.
Pumpkins are not all they have! Free hayrides will be available on the weekends, and there are plenty of opportunities to get the perfect fall photos at one of their several photo stations. The church does say that no professional photo sessions will be allowed.
The pumpkin patch is located at 18465 Old Perkins Road Prairieville, LA 70769 and is open:
Monday – Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday: Noon – 6:00 PM
The church will also host Fall Festival with live music, hayrides, games, food painting, and more on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free to the public.
