GREENWELL SPRINGS, La. (BRPROUD) – A beloved local man is in the hospital after a recent leukemia diagnosis.
Jimmy Santangelo is a Captain with the EBR Sheriff’s Office and owner of Indian Mound Grocery.

On Saturday morning, the Indian Mound Grocery and Deli is asking the public to come out and support Jimmy Santangelo.
The LifeShare Bus is going to be at the grocery store from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. collecting blood.
If you can’t give blood but want to help, supporters are raising funds for Santangelo through a shirt sale.

Jimmy Santangelo, owner of Indian Mound Grocery, EBR SHERIFFS Office Pride substation captain, and huge supportor of his community, was diagnosed with an aggressive leukemia (ALL). He will have many chemo treatments which are not cheap! While he does have insurance , out of pocket expenses are mounting up. He has given to his community for over 30 years and has helped so many of us along the way. Now it’s a chance for us to give back to him. These shirts are to help raise money for his treatment and meds but also to show how big of a support systems he has.
