Local fire department puts out car fire on Old Hammond Hwy.


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Side Fire Department is at the scene of a fire on Tuesday morning.

The call came overnight about a blaze on Old Hammond Hwy.

Firefighters worked to contain the fire which started with a car going up in flames and then reportedly spreading to a townhome.

The fire was extinguished and it is not known whether anyone was hurt.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office assisted firefighters at the scene.
