Local fire department puts out fully involved vehicle fire on Sunday night

GEISMAR, La. (BRPROUD) – Members of the Geismar Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Sunday night.

Firefighters arrived on scene a little after 10:40 p.m. “and found a fully involved vehicle, dropped a inch and three quarters attack line and started fire suppression,” according to the Geismar Volunteer Fire Department.

The scene was on Hwy 30 @ Gateway Dr.

The vehicle fire forced the closure of the road while firefighters put the blaze out.

It took firefighters ten minutes to extinguish the vehicle fire.

No one was hurt due to this fire.

Hwy 30 was cleaned up and the road was opened up again at 11:25 p.m.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Iberville Fire Department and St. Gabriel Police Department assisted the Geismar Volunteer Fire Department at the scene.
