Local firefighter injured during response to car fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a car fire around 4 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The car fire was located at the Spanish Arms Apartments and a BRFD firefighter sustained non-life threatening injuries while responding at the complex.

BRFD says the injuries occurred due to a fall.

Fire investigators determined that arson was the cause of the car fire.

After the fire was put out, firefighters noticed damage from gunfire on the car.

The investigation remains open with the Baton Rouge Police Department joining BRFD on this case.

The Spanish Arms Apartments are located at 4343 Denham St.
