BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Some might call this a miracle.

On Thursday night, the Baton Rouge Fire Department, EMS and a Baton Rouge police officer all worked together to save a person’s life.

Firefighters responded to a car on fire in a ditch on Douglas Ave.

BRFD says, “when they arrived on scene, they found a car fully engulfed in flames in a ditch.”

A BRPD officer arrived right before firefighters and said the driver of the vehicle was still inside.

Firefighters immediately went to work taking the ‘unconscious and not breathing’ person out of the burning vehicle.

Treatment was immediately administered by firefighters and “when EMS arrived on scene the patient was alert and talking,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

This all happened around 8:30 p.m.
