Lockdown has ended at local high school

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, “two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were arrested on charges of terrorizing and booked into the St. Bernard Parish Detention Center after deputies responded to Dutchtown High School regarding a possible active shooter. The school was placed on lockdown immediately after deputies received a 911 call regarding a potential threat. An all clear was given at 1:05 pm for the school to lift the lockdown after deputies secured the school and no credible threat was found.”


“According to Sheriff Webre, “at approximately 12:11 this afternoon we received a 911 call regarding a potential threat at Dutchtown High School. The school immediately went into lockdown and deputies began to investigate the potential threat.” At approximately 1:05 pm the lockdown was lifted and no threat was found to be credible.”

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms that “Dutchtown High School is on lockdown.”

The Sheriff’s Office is currently “checking the school” and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
