BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a blaze at 3535 Topeka St.
Firefighters arrived at 1:15 a.m. and found “heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.”
Firefighters went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.
It took 20 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The home sustained $120,000 in damages and is considered a total loss.
EMS, BRPD and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
No one was hurt as a result of this fire.
Investigators are still working to figure out what started the fire.
