BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 27-year-old Joshua Caleb Sanchez, of Baton Rouge, is facing one count of Indecent Behavior With Juveniles after the completion of a months-long investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
On April 4 of this year, EBRSO was contacted by the father of an alleged victim who claimed Sanchez had contacted his 15-year-old son through Instagram.
Sanchez allegedly engaged in a text conversation where the 27-year-old asked for oral sex from the 15-year-old.
The affidavit states that the 15-year-old said no and let Sanchez know his age.
At that point, Sanchez allegedly ended the conversation and unfollowed the victim.
According to the affidavit, “Prior to the Accused ending the conversation, the victim began taking snapshots and a video of the text message conversation.”
The victim sent that snapshots and video to his parents.
The victim turned over his cell phone to authorities who collected evidence which showed that the victim was under the age of 18.
Further investigation determined that Sanchez had coached the victim’s little sister.
Information was subsequently gathered from Facebook and Instagram.
That information was used to contact Joshua Caleb Sanchez.
Sanchez declined to be interviewed and more information was gathered through the efforts of EBRSO Computer Forensics.
The affidavit stated that an acquaintance of Sanchez provided a “written statement regarding a conversation had with the Accused where he admitted to the Instagram conversation with the victim.”
Sanchez was arrested and then released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, November 9.
