The Louisiana Art & Science Museum is providing further details on why the museum is closing for a brief period of time:

One of their elevators had an electrical issue over the weekend, and a smell lingers. LASM is having city maintenance and elevator repair folks in and out of the building this week to address it. The elevator will be out-of-service until the issue is fully resolved. Out of an abundance of caution, and to make sure our visitors have the best (and least smelly) experience possible, we are allowing the building several days to air out with the assistance of air purifying fans.
