10-year-old running in honor of Officer Chris Lawton

Zachary Police Department Officer Chris Lawton was killed almost one year ago and a 10-year-old is remembering the fallen officer by running. 

His name is Zechariah Cartledge and on Saturday, March 9, the 10-year-old is going to perform a run in honor of Officer Chris Lawton.

The Zachary Police Department released this statement on their Facebook page:

The Zachary Police Department would like to recognize 10 year old Zechariah Cartledge. Zechariah has already run more than 50 miles in honor of our nation’s fallen heroes in 2019. Tonight he is running in honor of a fallen hero from Chicago. Tomorrow he will be running in honor of Zachary Police Department’s own hero, Officer Chris Lawton. Zechariah created this tribute video in memory of Officer Lawton.

Lawton left behind his wife, son, and a daughter when he was killed in the line of duty.
