Sirens, cheers and a lot of waiving.
“I was surprised, I wasn’t even expecting it, so I was shocked.”
Thursday, family and friends came together, driving through a Broadmoor neighborhood to celebrate 11-year-old Landon Buuck’s birthday.
Lynsey Buuck said, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, she wanted her son’s birthday to be special.
“I’ve been keeping it a secret for a week. This was just an opportunity for us to get our family and close friends together. Social distancing has been very hard for the kids” said Buuck.
As cars drove by, confetti was popped in the air and gifts were handed out the window — something Landon said, made his day.
“I thought it would just be my family, my brother me, mom and my dad,” said Landon.
In every honk, a smile of joy from alittle boy and a heartfelt thank you from his family.
“I was full of tears of joy. We do whatever we can to make them happy.”
Social distancing may have kept the party parade moving but, Landon said, he’s thankful for the people who took just a few minutes to say happy birthday.
