16-year-old charged with First Degree Murder in Tiger Bend Homicide

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- A 16-year-old male was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s last night for the shooting death of 20-year-old Keishune Thomas in the 13000 block of Tiger Bend Drive on July 1st.

EBRSO responded to a call at 7 a.m. about a man found shot to death inside a vehicle in a parking lot on Tiger Bend. On July 19th, EBRSO Homicide and Narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and seized drugs, multiple guns, and cash.

The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab confirmed one of the seized guns was used in the Tiger Bend Homicide. Detectives learned that the suspect went to meet Thomas for a drug transaction, he shot Thomas and stole his money and cell phone. The suspect admitted that he attempted to destroy Thomas’ phone to avoid being linked to the murder.

The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility for First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, and Obstruction of Justice.
