BERTRANDVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two suspects were arrested by Assumption Parish authorities in connection to a shooting incident near Plattenville.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office says it arrested Tyreke Tajuan James, 18, and Wayne Sullivan, 18, both of Paincourtville.

An investigation into a shooting started on April 4 after Sullivan allegedly fire shots from a vehicle at another vehicle, hitting it several times. The sheriff’s office says detectives believed James was the driver of the vehicle Sullivan fired shots from.

Detective investigation found that an altercation happened at a place near Plattenville where Sullivan allegedly hit the victim before the shooting.

The sheriff’s office said James turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday and was released after posting a $100,000 bond. He faces accessory after the fact to aggravated criminal damage to property.

Sullivan, who was arrested Thursday, faces charges of simple battery, aggravated criminal damage to property, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
