WATSON, La. (BRPROUD) – A two-vehicle crash took the lives of two people on Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred on on LA Hwy 1019 and two Denham Springs natives were killed around 4 p.m.
Morgan Watson, 31 and Patrick Bourgeois, 32 died in the crash.
Three others were hurt and sent to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
According to the Louisiana State Police, “the initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as Watson and her three passengers were traveling northbound on LA Hwy 1019 in a 2007 Pontiac G6.”
Bourgeois was in the front seat of the Pontiac G6 and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Watson was also not wearing a seat belt and at some point “crossed the centerline into the opposing lane,” according to the Louisiana State Police.
The Pontiac G6 hit a 1996 Dodge Ram head-on.
The Dodge Ram was heading south on LA Hwy 1019 when the deadly collision occurred between the two vehicles.
The three people who were hurt in this crash were all wearing seat belts.
Toxicology results are forthcoming for both drivers and the investigation into this deadly crash remains open.
