BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting at a Perkins Road apartment that left one injured.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) identified the suspects as Ralph Beaureau, 25, and Darius Williams, 23. Both suspects have been charged on three counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each on illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Two of the three victims interviewed by detectives said Williams was an ex-boyfriend who had been threatening them with violence for several months, according to an affidavit. The victims told detectives they returned gunfire in an attempt to deter the suspects and protect themselves.

The shooting took place Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Oakleigh Apartments where responding deputies found several vehicles and apartments hit by bullets. EBRSO said the woman injured by a bullet was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.
