$20 million in drainage projects approved by Baton Rouge Metro Council

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Metro Council has approved of $20 million in drainage projects for the parish.

Officials said these drainage projects are to begin immediately, starting with storm drain cleaning at the intersection of Jefferson Hwy and Chelsea Drive.

Work within this initiative includes:

  • Channel clearing and grubbing
  • Roadside drainage cave-ins
  • Roadside ditch cleaning
  • Lined canal panel repairs
  • Engineering/project management

Cleanup and clearing of drains starts on Thursday morning in Baton Rouge.

At 9 a.m. on Thursday, cleanup will begin in the Westminster neighborhood.
