THIBODAUX, La. (BRPROUD) — Thibodaux Police Department arrested three in connection to Sunday evening’s shooting.
Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced the arrest of Roderick Wayne Carter Jr., 19, of Thibodaux, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old. All face attempted second-degree murder charges.
Carter was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on a $500,000 bond. The juveniles were taken to Lafourche Parish Juvenile Detention Center on a $250,000 bond each.
Officers responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of Iris Street and Martin Luther King Drive after 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 where a 20-year-old man was found shot several times. The victim was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Zeringue.
A police investigation found that shots were fired while the victim was sitting in his vehicle in the 14000 block of MLK Drive.
Zeringue said the incident remains under investigation and isn’t ruling out the possibility of additional suspects or charges.
