36-year-old Hammond man wanted in connection with fatal shooting is “in custody”

According to authorities, Christopher Bell Sr., 36, of Hammond “turned himself into the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office” on Friday, December 7.

A man is dead after a late night shooting in Hammond on Wednesday, December 5. 

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a Hammond man who “is wanted by the TPSO in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last night around 11:05 p.m. on Chloe Dr. in Hammond, LA.”

Police are looking for Christopher Orlando Bell Sr., 36, and authorities describe the wanted man as “a black male, bald, approximately 6′ tall, and 195 pounds.”

Tyreyon Garner, 22, of Hammond died as a result of the late night shooting. 

TPSO believes Bell has a gun, so the public should consider the wanted man armed and dangerous. 

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, “Bell has multiple tattoos and was last seen wearing grey pants, a black sweatshirt, and black shoes.”
