BAKER, La. (BRPROUD) — Thousands of boxes of groceries given by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be given to the Baker community next Saturday.

City leaders said groceries will be given to community members, food pantries, churches and home delivery through the EBR Council of Aging.

Those in need of groceries are invited to the food distribution at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Advantage Charter School parking lot (14740 Plank Road). Food will be given in a drive-thru.

This food giveaway event is a collaboration with city leaders, the EBR Council of Aging, the Baker Chamber of Commerce, the Baker Police Department, the Baker Fire Department, and the Army National Guard Youth Challenge Program.
