NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) — Ochsner Health released new data Monday which showed that of its 7,000 nurses in their system, only 900 contracted COVID-19.
Chief Nursing Officer Tracey Moffatt said that systemwide, Ochsner Health has just over 7,000 nurses.
Of those, about 900 have had COVID-19 at some point, though it’s unclear how many infections were contracted in the community.
A new report highlighted Ochsner for having no COVID-19 deaths among its nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moffat credits the health system’s safety protocols as well as promoting nurse’s wellbeing.
