BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Scotland Saturdays was awarded a $90,000 grant to host a free live music series for three years in a row.

The grant awarded by Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation funds the music series for 2023, 2024, and 2025.

“Positive change happens when people of all ages and backgrounds come together and we’re thrilled to support changemakers like Scotland Saturdays,” said Sharon Yazowski, executive director of the Levitt Foundation. “The first Levitt AMP Baton Rouge Music Series in Scotlandville Plaza is poised to become the city’s new gathering place, amplifying community pride and bringing the city’s diverse populations together to celebrate music and culture.”

The organization said the music series in Baton Rouge aims to revitalize Scotland Plaza while highlighting the area’s musical heritage.
