LAFAYETTE, La (BRPROUD) – Acadian Ambulance Service will celebrate 50 years of service with a virtual celebration on Thursday, Nov. 18 at noon.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards will give the keynote address at the virtual event. A video looking back on the past 50 years sharing highlights from past guest speakers including former presidents, government leaders, military heroes and more will play.

The public is invited to attend the celebration and watch as the 2021 Paramedic of the Year award be presented to Thomas Sumrall of Lafayette, and the EMT of the Year be awarded to Jonathan Cody Sides of Tennessee. Regional honorees and the entire medical team will also be celebrated.
