Aerial mosquito spray in St. John the Baptist Parish begins Friday night

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – St .John the Baptist Parish has a scheduled aerial mosquito spray this week for all areas within the parish or Friday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. depending on weather. 

The aerial spray will be conducted by Vector Disease Control, Inc and subsidiary company Mosquito Control Services in response to the increased mosquito population due to Hurricane Ida.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires the public to be notified when any aerial sprays occur.

The aerial spray may take up to three days to complete. If weather forces a delay, then the operation will continue the following night.
