BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Attorney General Jeff Landry is asking for transparency from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) officials regarding plans to reduce travel lanes on I-10 in Baton Rouge for construction.

Current plans include reducing I-10’s six lanes into two, with traffic going down one lane in either direction.

“The current plan to eliminate multiple lanes of travel represents a complete abandonment of assurances provided by LA DOTD, creating new impacts with significant and far-reaching effects that appear to have never been taken into consideration,” said Attorney General Landry.

In his letter, Landry states that while he celebrates DOTD’s attempts at improving infrastructure, it’s his duty in the public’s interest to question DOTD’s plans.
