BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – We’re just one day away from the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and many organizations benefit from the money made to better our community, including St. Vincent de Paul.

The society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international, nonprofit, charitable organization, which has a rich history of service to the needy of our community that dates back to 1895.

The organization provides a number of services to the local community, including children’s uniforms, food services and shelter.

The fair was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the foundation was still able to give money to SVDP which helped continue the organization’s mission of serving the community.

The 55th annual state fair starts Thursday, October 28th and runs through Sunday, November 7th.

If you want to learn more about SVDP and how you can get involved or volunteer, visit their website.
