BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — One airline is adding 68 nonstop flights for college football fans traveling to some of the upcoming season’s biggest games.
Of those flights, American Airlines has added a few round-trip flights for LSU football fans. One of the round-trips is between Knoxville, Tennessee, and Baton Rouge for the LSU game against the University of Tennessee. The game is scheduled for Oct. 8.
The second added flight is between Baton Rouge and Gainesville, Florida for the LSU game against the University of Florida. The game is scheduled for Oct. 15.
According to American Airlines, a larger aircraft with more seats on two routes will be flying football fans to and from the Baton Rouge Metro Airport ahead of the LSU game against Alabama. The game is scheduled for Nov. 5.
“American is making it easier for college football fans to get from the gate to the gridiron this fall,” said Jason Reisinger, American’s Managing Director of Global Network Planning. “With new nonstop flights and more seats, we’re helping fans see the action in person. The American team is ready for game day with the youngest fleet of any U.S. network carrier and service that is second to none.”
The airline says flight tickets aren’t available yet but will be on sale starting Tuesday, May 17.
