One of the area’s most popular charity food events, the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction will return for its annual delicious fundraiser on October 12. The event begins at 6 p.m. at Embassy Suites.

Prominent area chefs will prepare their signature dishes created exclusively for the evening and paired with fine wines and spirits. Lead Chef Kelley McCann of Kalurah Street Grill will be joined by a stellar lineup of chefs from some of the area’s most prominent restaurants, including Chef Danny Winfrey of Flemings, Chef Collin Fontenot of Galatoires, Chefs Carey and Kay LeGrange of The Bullfish Bar and Kitchen, Chef Natasha Clement of Sophisticated Southern Plates, Chef William Wells of Culinary Productions, Chefs Steve Tresvik and Dwight Sherman of Embassy Suites Chefs, Pastry Chef Kaila Kay of Kalurah Street Grill, and additional desserts by La. Egg Commission.

Following the tasting, there will be a seated dessert and a spirited live auction featuring many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and our very special Fund the Mission.

Funds raised by Signature Chefs Auction help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, newborn intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs and advocacy efforts for moms and babies.

Today, one in eight babies in the state is born premature. Louisiana received an “F” in the March of Dimes 2016 Premature Birth Report Card. The March of Dimes is committed to funding research to find the answers to problems that continue to threaten the lives and the health of babies.
Sponsors include Silver Sponsors: Aetna Healthcare, Woman’s Hospital; and Bronze Sponsors: BASF, Louisiana Lottery, Total, Secure Shredding and Recycling, Amerigroup, Infamedics, Olin Corporation, Coca Cola, In Loving Arms, Friends of March of Dimes, and Aptim.
