The Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to mark the opening of its new health care facility in Baton Rouge.

We’re told the innovative new center will increase patient care occupancy from 18 to 24 beds to meet the growing need to strengthen psychiatric services across the state.

Louisiana is currently one of the highest ranked states overall for mental illness.

According to the hospital’s website, the new mental health facility provides behavioral health and dual diagnosis treatment for adults ages 18 and above.

Apollo’s inpatient program is designed to stabilize those in crisis and help them return to an improved level of functioning, so they can safely transition to another level of care.

Outpatient programs provide assistance to adults who require an intensive level of care but do not require the 24 hour monitoring of an inpatient facility.

For more information, call (225) 663-2881 or pay them a visit at 9938 Airline Hwy, near the Interstate 12 interchange.
