GONZALES, La (BRPROUD) – Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) arrested and charged a Gonzales man with animal cruelty after deputies found four dogs in the cold.

According to APSO, deputies responded to multiple complaints of animal cruelty at a home in Gonzales on Thursday. Deputies found four dogs “living in substandard conditions” and tried to contact the homeowner but attempts were unsuccessful. APSO called animal control to the scene. All four dogs were taken from the home following no contact from the owner and were placed in a shelter.

Through an investigation, APSO identified the homeowner to be 32-year-old Frank Bell Jr. APSO says that Bell confirmed that he is the owner of the dogs and was arrested. Bell is charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
