DONALDSONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — The shooting suspect has been arrested and booked into Ascension Parish Jail, according to APSO.


DONALDSONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — Authorities are asking the public for help locating a shooting suspect.

On Friday, Nov. 12, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at 10:24 p.m. on 3rd Street. Deputies found 39-year-old James Bell shot to death, according to APSO spokesperson Donovan Jackson.

APSO officials said the suspect in this shooting has been identified as 28-year-old Carlos J. Nicholas. He is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

The sheriff’s office said a motive is unknown at this time.
