Arrest made in 2018 shooting death of Baton Rouge man

31-year old Johnny Warren, of 1440 S.17th Street, was killed in the early morning hours of June 18th, 2018.

The Baton Rouge Police Department announced an arrest in the shooting death of Warren.

25-year-old Joshua Johnson, of 906 North 37th St., is behind bars on Thursday facing one count each of 1st Degree Murder and Attempt 1st Degree Murder.

BRPD said, the shooting occurred on June 18, 2018 around 1:40am in the 1200 block of South 15th Street.

Warren was one of two shooting victims in this case and according to authorities both were inside a vehicle when they were shot by suspect(s) who were outside the vehicle. 

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, police believe an ongoing dispute may have been the cause for the shooting.

Warren is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
