BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man wanted in connection to an August shooting on Alvin Dark Avenue that left one woman hurt was arrested.

The suspect was identified by the Baton Rouge Police Department as Robert Lee III, 36, of Denham Springs.

Arrest documents said on the day of the Aug. 30 shooting Lee ran to his Earl Gros Avenue apartment to arm himself with a rifle before firing at three male victims sitting outside. Police said all fled the scene before officers arrived and a female victim was hurt in the shooting.

Witnesses interviewed by investigators said they didn’t know what the motive for the shooting was.

An affidavit states Lee is currently on probation until August 2023 after he was sentenced in Livingston Parish for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in 2018.

Lee was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, aggravated criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.
