SPRINGFIELD, La. (BRPROUD) – The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a shooting that injured an eight-year-old girl back in May.
An unidentified suspect fired multiple shots into a vehicle on May 9 around 1:30 a.m. on Pardue Road. The child was sent to the hospital in stable condition.
LPSO was able to identify 21-year-old Jaran Adams after collecting evidence from the scene and comparing it to an unrelated case in Hammond. Adams was originally booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center and charged with aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon but was sent to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on unrelated charges.
“This case was made because of dedication, good investigative work, and strong working partnerships with our law enforcement partners,” Sheriff Jason Ard says.
LPSO says there was another shooting on May 12 in the same area and believes an arrest will be made soon.
