GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD)- The Ascension Parish council approves of nine month development moratorium on Thursday, June 17.
“The flash flooding is every year problem and so we have to start to look at doing things differently because of the growth Ascension Parish has over the past two decades and plan where we are going to go for the next two decades,” said Parish President Clint Cointment, during the proposal.
The President is calling the decision a failure.
Parish President Clint Coitment’s original proposal was four a twelve-month stall on new developments. However, some council members did not agree and proposed a nine month moratorium for a final vote
The council plans on introducing a nine month plan to the public soon.
