ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Ascension Parish will be lifting its burn ban at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.
Ascension Parish Homeland Security released the following statement on Facebook:
Ascension Parish is lifting the burn ban at 5 p.m. today. Although we no longer follow the previous ban’s guidelines, we encourage ALL residents to remain aware and practice fire safety measures at all times.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal modified the statewide burn ban on Friday, Sept. 29, allowing for agricultural burning and for individual parishes to opt out of the statewide burn ban.
The status of the statewide burn ban continues to be considered weekly.
