GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death tied to an attempted home robbery.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a residence on Tiggy Duplessis Road in Gonzales around 6 a.m. Sunday, June 4. When deputies arrived, they found the body of Kameron Serigny, 20, at the home’s back entrance.
The sheriff’s office said the homeowner told investigators he shot at the suspect as they tried to break into the residence.
Deputies believe Serigny used an illegal substance before attempting the break-in. A toxicology report is pending, and the homeowner has not been charged, APSO said.
An investigation is ongoing.
