ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – A Gonzales man has been arrested on attempted second-degree murder charges after being accused of crashing into a woman’s home in Prairieville.
Ascension Parish deputies responded to a home on Muddy Creek Road around 5 a.m. on Sept. 11 and were told that Michael Blair, 46, had reportedly crashed his truck through her bedroom before fleeing on foot.
During an investigation, deputies learned that Blair was the owner of the truck and the driver at the time of the collision. They also learned that Blair and the victim were acquaintances. The sheriff’s office said detectives were able to confirm the victim’s claim that Blair drove his truck through her bedroom with the intention to inflict bodily harm or death upon her.
Blair was found at a medical facility and taken into custody on Friday. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property charges.
