Assumption Parish authorities seek two suspects in connection to Willow St. shooting; 1 arrested

LABADIEVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two suspects involved in a shooting in Assumption Parish are currently at large.

On July 22, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting on Willow Street where authorities found two men shot. They were taken to local hospitals for their injuries, according to authorities.

Through investigation, detectives found that an argument started between individuals before the shooting.

On Nov. 29, Jerome Smith, 31, was apprehended in Terrebonne Parish and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Arrest warrants were issued for Jeramey Johnson, 37, of Houma and a second individual on drug possession charges.

Johnson is wanted on charges of

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
  • Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
