NAPOLEONVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) announced the arrest of a juvenile who threatened another juvenile at a school fight.

According to APSO, the sheriff’s office was called on Thursday by a parent whose son was involved in a fight at school. Later that day, the parent said their son received text messages from other students telling the victim not to go to school the next day because the other juvenile was bringing a gun to school.

Sheriff Leland Falcon said in a press release that detectives interviewed witnesses and learned that one witness received a message through social media from the accused juvenile asking for specific information about the victim. Leland also said the investigating detectives filed a complaint against the accused juvenile and took him into custody on Thursday evening for the offense of terrorizing.

The juvenile has been released to a guardian by order of a judge.
