Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest man following high-speed pursuit in two parishes

PAINCOURTVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a St. James man following a traffic incident on Thursday.

Sheriff Leland Falcon said that a uniformed patrol deputy saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation at LA 70 East and tried to pull it over. Leland said the suspect vehicle led the deputy into a high-speed pursuit eastbound. The pursuit reached a speed of 140 miles per hour in Ascension Parish and the vehicle was stopped near Sunshine Bridge in St. James Parish.

The driver was identified as 18-year-old Kylin Terry Joseph from East Tchoupitoulas Circle.

Joseph was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of aggravated flight from an officer and spending. Joseph is currently incarcerated with a pending bond hearing.
