LABADIEVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) has arrested a Thibodaux woman after she was discovered to have stabbed a victim and slashed their tires.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said that on Thursday morning, a uniformed patrol deputy was conducting business checks when the victim’s relative called and told the deputy the victim had been stabbed in her vehicle. Leland said the deputy made contact with the alleged victim who had a stab wound to the hip. The victim went to a nearby hospital.
Through an investigation, APSO was able to identify 23-year-old Laquanda L. Tilford as the suspect in the stabbing. The investigation revealed that Tilford had slashed the victim’s tires and that it was a domestic dispute. Deputies found a knife and discovered that there were minor children present during the incident.
Leland said that APSO believed probable cause existed to arrest Tilford. Arrest warrants were granted and Tilford was arrested at the scene. She was booked into Assumption Parish Detention Center on a felony charge of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and simple criminal damage to property.
Tilford was locked up but was released on a $10,000 bond.
