Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest Laplace woman on battery charges

LABADIEVILLE, La (BRPPOUD) – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) arrested a LaPlace woman who struck a person in the face.

In early August, an incident involving the victim and 39-year-old Crystal Joy Howard Stipe occurred at a business in Labadieville, La. Stipe hit the woman in her face and was forced to seek medical attention. A deputy interviewed the victim and a warrant for Stipe’s arrest was granted.

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said that Stipe was arrested by St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, Oct. 26. She was transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of second-degree battery. Stipe is currently behind bars and is waiting for a bond hearing.
